SPRING 2026 1 FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Friend, As we reflect on this remarkable season at Dallas Baptist University, I am filled with gratitude for the ways God continues to work through our community. The stories you will encounter in this edition of The DBU Report reveal a campus alive with purpose, excellence, and unwavering commitment to Christcentered education. We recently celebrated our annual Leadership Gala, honoring those whose dedication advances DBU’s mission and impact. On Founders’ Day, we paused to remember the faithful vision that established this institution and the legacy we carry forward together. These moments remind us that we stand on the shoulders of those who believed God could use a university to transform lives and shape culture. This past semester brought extraordinary opportunities to gather as a community. We welcomed Dallas Jenkins, creator of “The Chosen,” for a compelling Veritas lecture that challenged us to consider how faith and creativity intersect. Our cherished traditions continued with the Christmas Tree Lighting and Homecoming festivities, where we presented Distinguished Alumni Awards to Patriots who carry DBU’s values into their vocations with distinction. Looking ahead, we celebrate the groundbreaking of the Don and Linda Carter School of Business building—a tangible expression of our commitment to preparing marketplace leaders who will serve with excellence and integrity. We also celebrate alumna Emma Sumlin and the Timeless Premier event, and student London Smith, whose summer as a Camp Mystic counselor demonstrates the servant leadership we cultivate here on University Hill. Our Patriot athletes continue to excel, with outstanding performances in cross country, baseball, and across our athletic programs. These achievements reflect not only competitive excellence but the character development that happens when faith and athletics unite. Finally, I am grateful for the continued generosity CHRIST-CENTERED COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE FAITH INTEGRATION GLOBALLY MINDED SERVANT LEADERSHIP TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATION reflected in recent advancement gifts to the Carter School of Business. Your partnership enables us to expand our capacity to serve students and fulfill our mission with greater impact.
