DBU REPORT 32 DBU ATHLETICS 2025 YEAR IN REVIEW The 2025 DBU Athletics season will be remembered as one of the most successful and historic years in department history. From national championships and Final Four runs to record-breaking performances and major conference news, the Patriots left their mark on the national stage across multiple sports. STUNT Back-to-Back Conference Titles The DBU STUNT team claimed its second consecutive Lone Star Conference Championship and advanced to the National Championships for the second straight season, earning two national tournament victories along the way. TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS WOMEN’S GOLF National Champions The DBU Women’s Golf team captured its third national championship in the last five years, cementing its status as a national powerhouse. The Patriots surged past an 18-team field at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, claiming the top spot after stroke play before defeating Central Missouri in medal match play to secure the national title. MEN’S BASKETBALL Historic Run to the Final Four The DBU Men’s Basketball program reached the NCAA Division II Final Four for the first time in school history. After sweeping the Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament championships, the Patriots hosted and won the South Central Regional. DBU then defeated Lake Superior State in the Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana, to punch its ticket to the Final Four. BASEBALL Extends NCAA Regional Streak DBU Baseball continued its run of sustained excellence by advancing to its 11th consecutive NCAA Regional following a Conference USA regular season championship. The Patriots joined Florida, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt as the only programs in the nation to reach the NCAA postseason in each of the last 11 years. WOMEN’S SOCCER Elite Eight Appearance The DBU Women’s Soccer team finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll and earned the right to host the South Central Regional. The Patriots captured their third regional title, swept the Lone Star Conference regular season and tournament championships, and concluded the season ranked No. 5 nationally after advancing to the Elite Eight.
