DBU REPORT 18 Dallas Baptist University hosted its 38th Annual DBU Leadership Gala on Monday, November 10, celebrating achievement, free enterprise, and Christcentered leadership. Each year, this signature event brings together friends and supporters of the University to honor individuals and organizations whose lives and work exemplify faith, integrity, and service. DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY HONORS Patsy R. Smith and the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation at the 38TH ANNUAL DBU LEADERSHIP GALA This year, DBU was proud to recognize Patsy R. Smith as the recipient of the Russell H. Perry Free Enterprise Award and the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation as the recipient of the Tom Landry Leadership Award. Mrs. Smith, who passed away earlier this year, was honored during the Gala for her dedication to faith, service, and generosity. For more than 30 years, Patsy was a devoted friend and supporter of Dallas Baptist University, serving faithfully as both a Trustee and Executive Board Member of the Women’s Auxiliary Board, and helping make possible major initiatives such as the Don and Linda Carter School of Business STAND FIRM. STAND OUT. capital campaign. The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, established in 1948 by John and Lottie Mabee, was also honored for its enduring legacy of generosity and impact. For more than 30 years, the Mabee Foundation has been a vital partner to Dallas Baptist University, supporting key campus projects. With every project it funds, the Foundation continues to shape lives and communities, building not just facilities, but brighter futures. The evening featured powerful moments of worship and celebration led by the DBU Grand Chorus, conducted by Dr. Joshua Brown and Professor Leigh Ann McClure. Musical selections such as “Homeland” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” filled the room with a spirit of gratitude and reverence. The Gala concluded with “God Bless America,” as voices joined together in a moving celebration of faith and country. Throughout the program, guests heard reflections from DBU President Dr. Adam C.
